about us.

Blake & DuCharme is a digital agency built around a partnership — and around a quiet conviction: the best brands feel as considered behind the curtain as they do in front of it.

Our approach is patient and meticulous. We listen first, name the problem clearly, and build only as elaborately as the brief calls for. We believe the strongest brands aren't the loudest ones. They're the ones that look, sound, and behave like they know exactly what they're doing — because they do.

We partner with founders, growing teams, and established companies who want their brand to keep pace with their ambition. Based in the Northeast, with clients near and far.

Alison Blake Cofounder

Alison is a brand and web designer with a quiet conviction that the best work feels inevitable — like it could only have come out one way. She earned her MFA from the School of Visual Arts and spent the early part of her career in New York, before founding Alison Blake Studio on Cape Cod. There, she partnered with small businesses and entrepreneurs to build identities and websites that hold up for years rather than seasons.

At Blake & DuCharme, she leads brand strategy and identity, with a particular obsession for typography — the kind of devotion that makes the difference between a good identity and one that lasts. Her clients return for the same reason new ones find her: she listens carefully, decides slowly, and finishes meticulously.

She is also an artist, working in large-scale charcoal drawings from her studio on Cape Cod — a practice that runs alongside the design work and, in quieter ways, feeds it. Both disciplines have taught her the same lesson: don't rush the work.

Peter DuCharme Cofounder

Peter DuCharme brings an unusual foundation to web development: two decades spent building music before he started building websites.

He trained in film scoring at Berklee College of Music, then spent over a decade composing and producing for national ad campaigns, working with agencies including Wieden+Kennedy and Ogilvy on award winning work for brands like Volkswagen, Nike, and Coca Cola. That early career, built entirely on deadlines, client direction, and creative production under pressure, shaped how he still approaches every project.

He moved into web development at Hill Holliday and Lycos, then led technology for NautilusThink, a Webby and National Magazine Award winning science publication. From there he worked on Vulture, The Cut, and Grub Street at New York Magazine, built Twill CMS websites for Harvard Radcliffe Institute and the National Gallery of Canada at AREA 17, and developed generative music algorithms at Boomy.

At Blake+DuCharme, he leads technical direction, bringing that same instinct for craft under real world constraints to every build.

Outside of client work, Peter still composes and records. His most recent album, Given to Rhythm, is available on Spotify.
